Amazon hires staff in Argentina: what profiles are they looking for?

March 7, 2018 - By Orlando Nugent

Jeff Bezos’ company seeks eight full-time positions for the new Amazon Web Services (AWS) offices that would open in July, in Buenos Aires, aimed at technical profiles and the sales area.

As published on the company’s website, the plan includes hiring a senior consultant specialized in migration, an architect of business solutions and one dedicated to Argentina, three business sales managers, a technical account manager focused on services in the cloud and a technical trainer focused on the AWS platform.

The company is expanding its cloud processing infrastructure worldwide and Argentina is included. For local technologists, having servers in the country means lower costs and improvements in the speed of loading compared to having them abroad.

Argentina competes with Chile for being the place where Amazon will put its new servers in Latin America, but the opening of the offices is a parallel landing and the company has not yet announced the location of its new data center.

AWS is the most profitable business of the technological giant: in 2017, it invoiced more than US $ 17,500 million, 43% more than in 2016.
